TD Bank Supports OBGC with $5,000 Donation

MARCH 6, 2014OLNEY, MD – The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®, recently donated a total of $5,000 to the Olney Boys and Girls Club (OBGC) as part of the foundation’s commitment to giving back to the community.

“We are extremely grateful for the foundations generous grant," said OBGC Executive Director, Ken Bradford.  “This grant will help ensure the growth of OBGC’s reach within the community, and will go towards the continued care of the OBGC Community Park at Freeman Fields.  We are proud to have such a generous donor like TD Bank in our neighborhood.”

The OBGC Community Park at Freeman Fields is a 118-acre sports complex that hosts the region’s best tournaments for soccer, lacrosse, baseball, softball, and football.  It is also the site of OBGC's annual Halloween event, Field of Screams.

“TD is happy to support the OBGC as it works towards building an exciting place for children to play and develop,” said Terrence Kenny, Market President, TD Bank. “It is so important for every community to have a place for young people to have fun and to be active, and the OBGC provides this great opportunity.”

On January 25, 2014, TD Bank opened its newest location in Olney, MD at the Olney Town Center, the first branch to be open seven days a week.

The Olney Boys Club was established in 1969 and in 1971 changed its name to the Olney Boys and Girls Club (OBGC) to better characterize the mission of the organization and its members.
